Where It All Began
Born in Munich, Germany, the city with the 089 area code, the number 89 has always been with me.
It's my year of birth, my hometown, my lucky charm and a dash of destiny - “89 Digital Marketing” is definitely more than just a name, it's my story.
1989

My Career Start: A Harsh Reality Check
I started my apprenticeship at Karstadt Oberpollinger (department store) shortly after it came out of insolvency – only to see the next one hit just months later. Add to that the global financial crisis, and you’ve got a crash course in chaos management: Standing in an empty store, anxious colleagues, and the fallout of ongoing mismanagement.
Still, it was the ideal place to learn how to stay grounded, understand customers and connect with them. And yes, working Saturdays during Christmas season: Peak resilience training.

Setting Out To Become A Counterbalance
After everything I’d seen during my apprenticeship, one thing was clear: I wasn’t going to settle for the kind of corporate chaos and mismanagement I witnessed.
So I hit the reset button. Went back to school, got my A-levels majoring in economics. And studied Applied Business Administration – with a spotlight on marketing and media management.
I have been doing my homework on this for years - because one thing still holds true for me: smart, tailored marketing is the beating heart and backbone of any business, inside and out.

Yes, I actually worked in the music business – and no, I didn’t meet AC/DC (sadly). But I did support product managers, coordinate projects, and roll out online marketing efforts. On the promo side, it was all about crunching numbers, organizing campaign events, and keeping the show running behind the scenes.

From data deep-dives to campaign flights – my agency time was all about turning strategy into results and to learn more than ever before. I started as a trainee and grew into a senior role, managing digital media planning across channels, markets, and mindsets.
I built media strategies, coordinated with creative and analytics teams, kept clients in the loop (and on track), and made sure every campaign didn’t just run – it performed.
